12 Angry Jurors

October 27 - 29, 7 PM | Salesian Cafe | $5 Students, $10 Adults

"12 Angry Jurors" focuses on a jury's deliberations in a capital murder case. A jury is sent to begin deliberations in the first-degree murder trial of a nineteen-year-old boy accused in the stabbing death of his father, where a guilty verdict means an automatic death sentence. The case appears to be open-and-shut: The defendant has a weak alibi; a knife he claimed to have lost is found at the murder scene; and several witnesses either heard screaming, saw the killing, or the boy fleeing the scene. Eleven of the jurors immediately vote guilty; only Juror No. 8 casts a not guilty vote. At first Juror #8 bases her vote more so for the sake of discussion; after all, the jurors must believe beyond a reasonable doubt that the defendant is guilty. That provides the backdrop as Juror #8 attempts to convince the other jurors that there is reasonable doubt.

Matilda, The Musical

Matilda, The Musical, is the story of an extraordinary girl who dares to take a stand and change her own destiny.

Matilda is a little girl with astonishing wit, intelligence, and psychokinetic powers. She's unloved by her cruel parents but impresses her schoolteacher, the highly loveable Miss Honey.  Matilda's school life isn't completely smooth sailing, however – the school's mean headmistress, Miss Trunchbull, hates children and just loves thinking up new punishments for those who don't abide by her rules. But Matilda has courage and cleverness in equal amounts, and could be the school pupils' saving grace!
