Last Wednesday, Salesian's Counseling and Dean's departments, with the support of faculty, staff, and leadership, dedicated an extended lunch period to prioritizing mental health through the very first "Wellness Wednesday". This special event aimed to foster a deeper sense of well-being and self-awareness among students by offering a variety of engaging activities that promoted relaxation, connection, and fun.
Each teacher on staff took part by dedicating their Flex session to a unique activity designed to boost mental health and help students recognize their own worth. The activities ranged from singing and dancing to enjoying ice cream, participating in jump rope and double dutch, and playing friendly card games, among many others.
The day was a reminder that mental wellness is just as important as physical health, and that taking time for self-care and connecting with others is essential. The excitement and joy that filled the air during Wellness Wednesday highlighted the strong sense of community at Salesian, where students, faculty, and staff come together to support one another. It was an uplifting and memorable event, reinforcing the importance of prioritizing mental health and creating a space where everyone feels valued and cared for.
