The Strenna for the 2026-2027 School Year

Each year, the Rector Major offers the Salesian Family a Strenna, a theme and spiritual invitation that helps guide us in living our Salesian mission throughout the year. This year, Rector Major Fr. Fabio Attard announced the Strenna: “Charity is patient, charity is kind, ‘Dedicated’ to the integral good of young people.” Rooted in the words of St. Paul and inspired by the Preventive System of St. John Bosco, this Strenna reminds us that caring for young people is more than something we do. It is a commitment to who they are, who they are becoming, and who God is calling them to be.

At Salesian College Preparatory, we will have the opportunity to receive this Strenna together during our Salesian Triduum. The word Triduum means “three days,” and in the Salesian tradition, it is a special three-day period of prayer, reflection, celebration, and community centered on Don Bosco and the Salesian mission. During these days, our community will pause from the ordinary rhythm of school life to reflect more deeply on what it means to be Salesian and how we are called to carry Don Bosco’s spirit into our daily lives.

Throughout the Triduum, our students, faculty, and staff will gather as a community for prayer, liturgies, reflection, and activities that invite us to encounter the heart of Salesian charism. It will be a time to celebrate our identity as a Salesian school, to remember the example of Don Bosco, and to consider how each of us is called to care for the young people entrusted to us. As we receive the Strenna, we will not simply hear a new theme for the year; we will be invited to embrace it as a spiritual call and a shared commitment.

For us at Salesian College Preparatory, our Triduum will consist of:

  • Sept. 15, 2026 - All-School Assembly
  • Sept. 16, 2026 - All-School Mass
  • Sept. 17, 2026 - Faith Family Lunch (no café service)*

* Students may drop off their assigned food/supplies in their Faith Family moderator’s room between 8:20am and 8:30am on the day of the event. Please label all non-disposable containers. We encourage the use of compostable or recyclable items, such as cutlery, cups, and plates.
