A timelapse featuring the construction of the MOJO Pavilion

Since the groundbreaking in October 2025, when members of the Salesian family gathered to mark the beginning of the Michael Oddo and Jennifer Oddo (MOJO) Pavilion, there has been steady and meaningful progress. What began as a shared commitment to future generations and to the enduring mission inspired by St. John Bosco is now visibly taking shape.

Pictured is a time-lapse capturing the groundwork of the MOJO Pavilion.

In the early months, much of the work happened behind the scenes. Architectural plans were finalized, the City of San Pablo issued the foundation permit, and crews began excavation. Utility lines and essential infrastructure were installed, followed by the pouring of the concrete slab. While there was little to see at first, this phase laid the critical groundwork for what will become a vibrant hub of student life.

Throughout this time, faculty, staff, and students have adapted with flexibility, as the parking lot was transformed into a construction area. Though activity was constant, it was not always easy to imagine the full scope of the building, rising from the site. That changed with the arrival of steel. The north side of the Pavilion has now risen into view, with seven of the twelve gridlines in place and rafters set overhead. Purlins, girts, and metal roofing are being installed, giving shape to the future 1,400-seat arena, where the community will gather in the years ahead.

Soon, the south side of the project, gridlines eight through twelve, will begin to take form. This area will house many of the Pavilion’s dynamic spaces, including a modern dance studio, band room and offices, band studio, weight and training rooms, locker rooms, and more. Together, these facilities reflect the vision first set forth at the groundbreaking: a place where students can gather, learn, and grow in mind, body, and spirit.

More than just a building, the MOJO Pavilion is becoming a reality, a dynamic center where academic, spiritual, and co-curricular life will intersect, rooted in Don Bosco’s vision of school as home, school, church, and playground. With the project on track for a November grand opening, excitement continues to build for what this space will mean for current and future students, and for the entire Salesian community.
