Salesian College Preparatory continues to expand opportunities for its students through meaningful college exposure, most recently with its third annual HBCU (Historically Black Colleges and Universities) tour. The tour serves as an experience that is already shaping the futures of its seniors in powerful ways.

This year’s trip offered students the chance to visit campuses rich in history, culture, and academic excellence. Through guided tours, conversations with current students, and meetings with admissions representatives, Salesian students experienced firsthand what makes HBCUs such vibrant and supportive communities. For many, the visit transformed college from a school to a place they could truly envision as home.

Colleges Acceptances for Seniors at Salesian, Embracing Their Next “Home”

Salesian seniors have been receiving college acceptance letters since the fall through early applications, but in recent weeks, the excitement on campus has grown as students open letters from the colleges they have long hoped and prayed to attend.

The results so far reflect both the strength of the Class of 2026 and the impact of experiences like the HBCU tour. Numerous Seniors have been accepted to top tier UC's like Berkeley and UCLA. At the same time, students are earning recognition from a wide range of institutions. Several seniors have been welcomed by Catholic colleges and Private Universities, while a handful of students have already been accepted to Howard University and other notable Historically Black Colleges and Universities, proving connections from last year's tour was impactful.

While the Salesian community cherishes the four years students spend on campus, this season marks a special transition. It is a time when families, faculty, and staff watch with pride as seniors begin to embrace the places that will become their next homes. As more decisions arrive in the coming weeks, the excitement continues to build, fueled not only by achievement, but by the confidence gained through experiences like the HBCU tour.
