Salesian Student featured on KQED Youth Media Challenge Showcase

Sarah Trott, English Department Chair, asked her English III students to choose a topical issue, write an argument using data and the student's personal perspective, record the essay as an audio piece, and submit it to KQED for their Youth Media Challenge Showcase. One of her juniors, Aaron Claytor, had his piece chosen to be highlighted on the KQED website as a prominent student example. Aaron is a starter on the Boys Varsity Basketball team, so he chose to write about student athletes. His writing will be featured on the KQED Youth Media Challenge Showcase for the rest of the month. Aaron titled his article An Athletes Mental Health.

Congratulations to Aaron Claytor, and kudos to Ms. Trott for challenging her junior English students with a creative and unique final assessment activity for the end of the first semester.
