New Courses at Salesian

At Salesian College Preparatory, our academic mission is deeply rooted in a commitment to rigorous, relevant, and fulfilling coursework that challenges students to think critically, solve problems creatively, and prepare confidently for the demands of college and beyond. Grounded in the Salesian tradition of listening to and accompanying young people, our Administration, in collaboration with the Curriculum Council, continues to actively engage students, faculty, and families to shape an academic experience that is both innovative and student-centered.

This year, we are proud to announce the launch of two new courses in the Mathematics Department, alongside the exciting expansion of our Visual Media Arts Pathway, now entering its second year. These developments reflect our ongoing dedication to academic excellence and to nurturing the diverse gifts and interests of every Salesian student.

The Mathematics Department has expanded to include Statistics and Advanced Placement (AP) Statistics, two courses designed to meet the evolving needs of our students and the increasingly data-driven world. With applications across numerous college majors, such as psychology, biology, sociology, economics, political science, business, education, and nursing, Statistics provides students with valuable skills in logic, analysis, and problem solving.

Our AP Statistics course offers students the opportunity to engage with statistical concepts at a college level, giving them a competitive edge in future academic coursework and helping them build a strong foundation for disciplines that rely heavily on data interpretation. Whether students pursue STEM, social sciences, or the humanities, these new offerings empower them with skills that are academically rigorous and practically relevant.

Salesian continues to invest in the creative potential of our students through the Visual Media Arts Pathway, a uniquely designed, in-house program developed by our talented faculty in the Visual and Performing Arts Department. Now in its second year, this two-year program invites students into a dynamic exploration of artistic expression. By offering a curriculum that bridges artistic passion with technical skill, the Visual Media Arts Pathway not only nurtures creative confidence but also prepares students for potential careers in the creative industries.
