Let’s Compete, Salesian!

As the school year gets off to a great start in the classroom and in social spaces, our Fall sports teams have also kept the school community busy, continuing to cheer for them as they compete with the best!

This fall, Salesian is proudly fielding six competitive teams: Girls Volleyball, Football, Girls Tennis, Cross Country, and Girls Golf. Already, five of those six have started competing both at home and on the road.

To date, here are a few notable highlights that showcase how our teams are performing early in the season:

  • Girls Volleyball has faced stiff competition early on. The team has already notched a key home win, defeating St. Mary's College High School at home, 3‑0. The girls are kicking off October with their annual Dig Pink game, raising funds and support for Breast Cancer Awareness.
  • Football is off to a 4-0 start with wins against Piedmont, Moreau Catholic, College Park, and Oakland Tech.  Next up for the Pride in Ygnacio Valley High School
  • Girls Tennis has started the season 7-0, and looks to continue their winning ways against El Cerrito High School.
  • Cross Country will have their first league meet on October 26th.
  • This season, the Girls Golf Team is now hosting and playing their home matches at the Richmond Golf Club. Led by Coach Josephine Orozco, the team looks forward to an outstanding season.

The road ahead will demand focus, grit, and teamwork. But if the early results are any indicator, our athletes are rising to the challenge. Let's rally behind them. Whether on the sidelines, in the stands, or cheering from home, let our voices lift the Pride. Each spike, each touchdown, each mile, each birdie, and each race finish helps build the story of our school’s resilience, unity, and commitment to excellence.
