Introducing Our New Salesian Novices

The word novice means “beginning,” and that is precisely what this year represents for those entering the Salesian family. Novices are at the start of their journey of discerning God’s call in their lives. Over the course of this formation year, they pray, study, and serve while reflecting on whether they are called to commit themselves fully to Salesian life. At the end of their novice year, they prepare to make their first profession, taking vows of obedience, poverty, and chastity as they continue their path of service.

Our novices are not only immersed in prayer and study—they also spend meaningful time with young people at both Salesian College Preparatory and the neighboring West County Salesian Youth Club. This important ministry helps them live out the Salesian mission of presence, joy, and accompaniment. Guiding them along the way is Father Joe, our Director of Novices, who also leads novice training for the entire international Salesian Novitiate.

In the spirit of celebrating the Noviciate, we congratulate the former cohort, who have recently become Salesian Brothers and have entered the next phase of their journey.
