Leadership/Development

At Salesian we believe that we are a community with a mission to bring love, compassion, justice and truth to one another and our world. A Salesian education calls us to be good faith filled people and honest and upright citizens. We are called to do this together and as a school community.

All students complete four service requirements each year, including:

1.  Participation in campus-wide Service Day in the spring. The entire Salesian student body organizes into Faith Family teams and sets out to serve the community. Recent event locations include the Bay Area Rescue Mission, Pinole Valley Watershed, Animal Refugee Response, and many more.

2.  Complete the Class Service Learning Project (grade-level specific; details shared via religion classes each year).

3.  Completing a unique, self-selected community service project on- or off-campus (minimum requirement is 12 hours).

4.  Engagement in two service donation projects (our Thanksgiving food drive and Project Santa).

Mentoring Opportunity/Internship for Salesian Students

Today's Youth Matter (TYM) has partnered with Salesian to offer young elementary school students in our community a specialized learning pathway in an after school targeted intervention program. Salesian students volunteers have the unique opportunity to tutor and mentor these TYM students on our campus. Our student interns are challenged to model appropriate life skills and refine their own personal leadership qualities as they help younger students expand their skill set and discover their true potential.
