Transfer Students

The Salesian College Preparatory admissions process provides a comprehensive assessment of each applicant. Salesian accepts a small number of transfer students in grades 10 and 11 each year. We do not accept incoming 12th grade applicants.

Transfer candidates for admission must adhere to the following:

Step 1: Apply Online

Complete an online application and submit a non-refundable $100 fee by March 27, 2020.

Step 2: Submit Transcripts and Test Results

Transcripts are due to the Office of Admissions by March 27, 2020.

Current 9th or 10th grade students: Submit transcripts of all high school work and a copy of your current course schedule.

For entering 10 graders: you are required to take the HSPT exam. The exam will take place at Salesian on Saturday, January 11, 2020 at 8:30am.  There is no additional fee for this test as long as you have an application on file. If you have already taken the HSPT you may submit prior exam results.

For entering 11th graders: please provide other exam results.

Step 3: Submit Recommendation Forms

Salesian requires three recommendation forms from your current math teacher, English teacher, and principal or counselor. Transcript & Recommendation Forms must be received directly from your student's current school. We recommend that the forms are provided to your student's current school at least four weeks before the deadline. These forms are due to the Office of Admissions by Friday, March 27, 2020.

Step 4: Attend an Interview

Interviews will be scheduled by the Office of Admissions. A member of our Admissions team will contact you to schedule an interview.  At your interview, you will have the opportunity to speak with a faculty or staff member. We strive to make these interviews enjoyable and conversational. This is a time for us to get to know you and for you to ask any questions you have about Salesian. Interviews will be approximately 15 minutes. There is no need to prepare for your interview. We just want to get a natural sense of who you are.
