Admissions Process

Step 1: Complete the Salesian Inquiry Form: Register for Events at Salesian

Applying to Salesian is more than just filling out an application. In addition to the elements required by the application, we want to get to know potential students and families.

Fill out an Inquiry form to register for admissions events including: 8th Grade Shadow Visit, Personalized Family Tours, Information Night Webinar, Open House, 1:1 Coffee and Convo virtual meetings and/or to receive information about our programs.

Step 2: Apply Online 

Complete the online admissions application for the 2027-2028 school year and submit a non refundable $125 fee by December 7, 2026.

Step 3: Register for the High School Placement Exam

HSPT - January 9, 2027 - 8:30am 

Each student that applies to Salesian College Preparatory for the 9th or 10th grade year, must register online for the High School Placement Test (HSPT).  

HSPT details:

• The HSPT exam will be proctored at Salesian on Saturday, January 9, 2027.  The test begins promptly at 8:30am and ends by 12:00pm.
• Please arrive by 8:15am in the school Gym to check-in. Students will then be escorted to a classroom. 
• We will provide all necessary materials for testing.  
• Please be sure that your student has a healthy breakfast. Snacks and refreshments will be provided. 
• Applicants with learning differences must submit documentation and/or assessment with admissions application in order for the applicant to be granted extended time on the HSPT exam.

Step 4: Submit the Admissions Student Video

4. Submit the video by uploading directly to your students Salesian application portal no later than Tuesday, January 12th.

Share Your Story!

We’re excited to get to know you! At the beginning of your video, please introduce yourself and tell us:

• Your first and last name
• The school you currently attend
• A little about your family (for example, who you live with, siblings, or pets)
• One word that best describes you and why that word best describes you
• What are you most deeply passionate about, and how does it shape who you are? Please share any co-curricular activities that you are currently involved with. 
• Why you would like to attend Salesian College Preparatory

So in summary, we’d love to learn what makes you unique. Feel free to share anything else you’d like the Admissions Committee to know about you. You can speak directly to us, include clips of yourself participating in an activity, performance, or sport, or share photos of artwork, accomplishments, or other meaningful moments in your life.

The video should be in your own voice, rather than someone else talking about you or highlighting your achievements.

Thank you for taking the time to record your video. Please note that it will be viewed only by the admissions committee and will not be shared outside of the admissions review process.

Step 5: Submit Transcripts and Recommendations

Salesian requires recommendation forms from your current math teacher, English teacher, and principal or counselor. A Clergy recommendation is optional.

Once you have completed the application, you will be directed to complete required Checklist items in the portal.
Many Checklist items such as standardized recommendation forms and transcript release documents can be shared to all the schools you apply to.

Please email the transcript and recommendation forms to the teachers/admin through the application portal at least three weeks in advance. Recommendation forms and transcripts must be received directly from your students' current school by February 4, 2027.

The following are the types of transcripts we accept at Salesian:

• Current 8th grader: Transcripts and standardized test scores from the 7th and 8th grade years.
• Current 9th or 10th grader: Transcripts and standardized test scores of all high school work and a copy of your current course schedule.

We do not accept 12th grade transfers.

Step 6: Attend an Interview

We can't wait to meet you!

Student Interviews will be held by the Office of Admissions on Wednesday, January 20, 2027,  between 2:15pm-5:15pm. 

Refer to your application portal to set up your interview time.

At the interview, applicants will have the opportunity to speak with a faculty or staff member. We strive to make these interviews enjoyable and conversational. This is a time for us to get to know you and for you to ask any questions you have about Salesian. Interviews will be approximately 15 minutes. There is no need to prepare for your interview. We just want to get a natural sense of who you are.

Step 8: New Student Notification and Enrollment

Admissions notifications will be sent via email after 4pm on March 12, 2027.

• Notifications regarding tuition grants and scholarships will follow in a separate email from the Finance Office.
• The HSPT results for your students will be sent to you directly from Scholastic Testing Services at that time.
• The Enrollment portal for newly admitted students will open at 4pm on March 12, 2027 and close on March 19, 2027.
• Complete the online enrollment forms and submit the non refundable registration fee of $850 to secure a place in the class of 2031.
