Faculty & Staff
Ms. O’Hair graduated from Ursuline High School in Santa Rosa and earned a BFA in Acting from Syracuse University in New York. She worked as a professional actor and director in New York City for over 20 years. In New York, she also taught drama and directed plays at The Browning School and The Convent of the Sacred Heart. Ms. O’Hair then moved to England and taught drama and directed at Aldenham, a school dating back to 1587. She joined the faculty at Salesian in 2008. In addition to directing the plays and musicals and teaching Drama and ESL I, she also is the moderator for several clubs including the Film Club, The Drama Club, National Honor Society and co-moderator of Adulting 101. Ms. O’Hair enjoys cycling, travel, reading, and theatre.
Dr. Osenga has been teaching art at Salesian for 20 years. She enjoys sharing her artistic talents and has a knack for teaching students how to draw. Dr. Osenga also enjoys inspiring students to travel by organizing adventurous student trips with her fellow teachers. She has visited all 50 states and has almost reached her goal of visiting all 7 continents (only Antartica and Australia to go!). She loves animals, outdoor activities, and reading science fiction.
Mr. Ott graduated from Salesian in 1997 and from St. Mary’s College in 2003 and returned to Salesian as football, basketball, and baseball coach as early as 2000. He joined the faculty and staff in 2006 as a science teacher. Mr. Ott is currently the Student Activities Director and teaches freshmen science. He has three children and has given up coaching at Salesian to be involved in the coaching of his own children. Mr. Ott enjoys sports and exploring new places.
Mr. Pezzola practiced law in private law firms for fifteen years before moving to work in various executive roles in private and public corporations. In 2003, he established Yorkshire Ventures, LLC, a business consulting firm. Mr. Pezzola consulted for start-ups and well-established firms in the area of strategic and corporate planning, business development, mergers and acquisitions, financing, negotiations and corporate structure. Mr. Pezzola has served on various boards of directors including stints as chairman of the board of several companies. He has a BS, JD from the University of California at Berkeley, CA.
Mr. Pezzola became President of Salesian College Preparatory on July 1, 2018. He has coached the girls varsity basketball team since 2009.
He is married with two children: David who played football at Claremont McKenna from which he graduated in the Spring of ’09; and Genny who played volleyball and basketball at Swarthmore College from which she graduated in the Spring of ’12. Genny received her Masters in Engineering from UC San Diego and her PhD in Engineering at Georgia Tech.
Mr. Rhoades joined Salesian in 2016 after teaching junior high for 12 years. He has been the Cross Country coach since 2017, and the swim coach since 2018. While at Salesian he has also moderated the Junior State of America club and been the Junior class moderator. An avid lover of history and politics, he enjoys stimulating conversations about any topic. Mr. Rhoades enjoys reading, hiking, and biking, as well as taking his dog for long walks.
Mr. Rollolazo joined the Salesian faculty in 2017. In addition to teaching English, he has coached the girls Junior Varsity Basketball team for two years. He is now the head coach for the boys Junior Varsity Basketball team. Mr. Rollolazo also moderates the Sneaker Club and the Video Game club for students. On his free time, Mr. Rollolazo enjoys golfing and spending time with family and friends.
Mr. Ruiz joined Salesian in 2006 as a Spanish Teacher, intermediate level. He coached the girls JV soccer team from 2007 to 2009. He was in charge of the Computer Literacy classes from 2010 to 2012. In 2010 he took the role of the Yearbook Class teacher and coordinator. In 2012 he added the role of IT assistant and help desk to his daily duties. Mr. Ruiz also works as the Salesian Latino Club coordinator.
Ms. Ryan has been teaching at Salesian since 2011. She came to Salesian with over 25 years of experience in public schools as a special education teacher and coordinator. Ms. Ryan has implemented a program at Salesian that supports students throughout the day who need academic support, time to study, extra time on tests or just an extra period to get work completed.
Debra Shushan joined the faculty in 2001 after teaching teens and adults in Oakland. She leads the Visual and Performing Arts Department and especially enjoys coordinating the annual school-wide Arts Day celebration every October. She started a photography program at Salesian and is in the process of setting up Salesian’s first ceramics studio on the fourth floor. Outside of school Ms. Shushan swims, visits museums, designs gardens with CA native plants and makes things with a wide range of media.
Mr. Stevens grew up in the Bay Area suburbs in what was then the small town of Dublin, CA. After attending a few different colleges and universities, he graduated from St. Mary’s College, receiving his Bachelor's Degree in Psychology with a minor in Mathematics. Mr. Stevens began his career teaching Math for eight years at Bishop O’Dowd High School and eventually earned his Masters Degree in Counseling. He joined the faculty at Salesian in 1997, doing academic and college counseling as well as teaching a course in Mathematics. Mr. Stevens enjoys hiking, traveling, and watching sports.
