The Sentinel is Salesian High School’s student newspaper. In its 50th year of publication at Salesian, it is planned, written, edited and produced entirely by student journalists under the guidance of moderator Ms. Emily Eichman. Published monthly, the Sentinel features articles on school-centered events: sports, clubs, musical and drama productions. It also includes interviews; film, television and music reviews; comics and puzzles; and editorials on school, community, national or international topics. Student journalists on the Sentinel staff are truly committed to excellence. Assembling their various talents, they write articles, interview students, take photos, review performances, critique ideas, create art and do graphic design. Their goal is to produce a student newspaper that is imaginative, informative, and entertaining for their readers.
