The Academic Success Center provides a support network for all Salesian High School students to succeed academically.
-
The Academic Success Center is home to Title I students, students with learning disabilities, students on academic ineligibility, and students who need general academic support. This support is carried out through a small group tutoring staff and with peer tutoring by National Honor Society students.
The Coordinator of the Academic Success Center coordinates the schedule for tutoring and works collaboratively with all stakeholders at school: from teachers, to coaches, and counselors.
In support of both the faculty and the students, the Coordinator provides accommodations for students with special needs.
The Coordinator also communicates with the parents and acts as a liaison with the parents / guardians.
Individual and/or group tutoring is available throughout the school day, based upon a set schedule coordinated by the Academic Success Center in conjunction with the Guidance Department and classroom teachers. Students on academic ineligibility attend tutoring Monday through Thursday from 3:00PM until 3:50 PM. Drop-in tutoring is also available for homework academic support after school until 3:50PM.
The Academic Success Center is located in a separate modular unit behind the Salesian residence, adjacent to the Finance Office. The Academic Success Center is equipped with computers and a printer for student use in conjunction with resource assistance.
