Salesian High School, a college preparatory Catholic school, educates young men and women to develop into good citizens for the betterment of society and the glory of God. Salesian combines the experience of church, school, playground and home in a supportive, caring, family environment, according to St. John Bosco’s educational philosophy of reason, religion and kindness. |
Our academic program consists of a curriculum that is designed to meet the course requirements for college entrance modeled after the standards set by the University of California and California State Universities. Through rigorous academic expectations students are prepared for the challenges they will face during college. 100% of the class of 2007 are attending college. The curriculum is grounded in the California state standards. The faculty is highly qualified and frequently takes advantage of on-going educational opportunities. Students are held to high standards with support as needed. To create effective communicators who can meet the challenges of the 21st century workplace, writing across the curriculum is a schoolwide area of focus. Salesian High School is fully accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC) and is a member of the National Catholic Education Association (NCEA) and the Oakland Diocese. We expect our students to conduct themselves with integrity in all things at all times. The students are expected to be honest in their academic work, act in a Christian manner with their peers, and respect home and school life. By creating an environment of mutual respect, faculty and staff model these high standards. Behavioral expectations are clearly outlined in the student/parent handbook. |
